Tranquility

Swimming against one of the most powerful indoor jet pools available, facing lakes set in acres of natural habitat you could easily believe you had arrived in some exotic location for an extravagant few days of exercise and relaxation.

In fact this is a private home in Leicestershire just designed and completed by ourselves, the ground floor consists of a large vaulted multi-function room which for now is a very comfortable and airy front room and dining area ,stairs from this room lead onto the 1st floor and also lead down to the large jet pool where the gym is interlinked with the pool by sliding glass doors set between oak posts, next to this there is a shower room and WC and the obligatory plant room.

An 8 meter aperture can be created with our hand made oak bi-folding doors, the framed landscaped area includes a large oak deck that holds the external sofas, this is wrapped by a split porcelain terrace, this terrace was designed to be on two levels , these levels are separated by a large curved organic S line, the two areas hold the granite water feature, the large sunken fire pit  and BBQ area. All the exterior is lit to maximise all the features,  as the day light fades the light pools reveal all of the hidden textures and colours in a very inviting way.

Above the pool there is the one main bedroom , this again overlooks the lakes and the doors of the juliet balcony when opened really emphasises this outer landscape.  This is a south elevation so with all the glass we decided to use the latest reflective sun radiation coatings and handmade automatic blinds which help reduce the potential solar gain, with a touch of a button the light can be altered to suit the time of day. At the rear of the bedroom is a very sizeable walk in wardrobe which is accessed at the rear of the bedroom and en-suite bathroom, the wardrobes were hand built and custom lit , the sliding doors of the ensuite act as a large mirror, when closed they produce a complete floor to wall mirrored vertical surface, behind which is the en-suite bathroom, designed with twin power showers , twin sinks and large resin bath the quality and feel blends seamlessly with the accompanying rooms.

Lighting to all the areas was designed to be altered according to the mood using various techniques along with coloured spots, rope LED’s, wall lighting and pendants. The heating/cooling  of the project was via air source and air conditioning units.

The many details that are built into this project are subtle and discreet , this gives is a sophisticated yet simple feel to the completed space, less is more could be the term used but not to the extremes as the clients wanted a warm inviting feel throughout.

Please call the office to discuss any of the details or images that may have caught your eye, we look forward to hearing from you.
