This cleverly designed garage & summer room was built in this lovely village in Corby.
This historic building is a grade 2 listed stone building adjacent to the village church, the design of the garage/summer room had to be very sympathetic and run in line with all the listed building consent specification. By designing the roof with a very low pitch at the rear, this allowed us to create a large part glazed summer room / gym/ entraining area above the garage.
Using the topography of the site enabled us to elevate the rear section giving a large rear oak deck area that is accessed by two oak staircases. This then leads onto the bi-fold doors which when open lets the outside in.
Inside the area has a heated floor with an oak overboard, a Sonos sound system and wi-fi connection. Underneath the large Scotch pine trees, clever use of topography allows this new multi-use structure to sit beautifully and sympathetically with the church and the natural environment surrounding it.
