Oak Truss Kitchen
We were initially contacted after the clients saw one of our adverts in a county magazine in mid 2013.
After we met with the clients in their home they told us that the reason for the initial contact was that they loved the clean contemporary look of our work and they had not found this any where else.
We discussed their home and what they would like from the new additions and then set to work. The original Elizabethan main house was the starting point with the footprint increasing by over 200% .
Within this increase of size the clients gave us their brief which included 4 more bedrooms with en-suits,an office, a large utility, a rear porched entrance, a rear loggia, with the main emphasis being on the hub of the home , the kitchen.
Within this large space they wanted 2/3 functions, the kitchen and a day room with the third being a formal eating area in view but partly obscured.
Our chief designer was handed the task of creating this bespoke home and several weeks later was able to offer the clients the proposed design.
This beautiful space was designed primarily around two oak truck trusses enabled us to span the width of the building also giving us the structural integrity to build from these outwards creating even more vaulted space and the added bedrooms and office etc that the clients had put in their brief.
All the elevations on this beautiful home have a large degree of detail and focal points, on every elevation there is the maximum amount of glass to allow the setting of this home to be a permanent reminder of the location with the many acres of farm and pasture land creating the best possible back drop imaginable.
With Bi-fold doors and double doors again on all elevations including the bedrooms with their oak balconies the owners are able to maximise those beautiful warm summer days in the British countryside.
The abundance of natural light, natural detail and huge vaulted space this home really does make you want to “stay a while” and is truly a unique bespoke home..
